| My grandmother Isabella purchased wool from the Shetland Islands during the Second World War and knitted Fairisle tams to order; Pat, my mother, aged 10, knitted the mittens to match. I inherited Gran's knitting needles and her keen eye for a trend. However, my first venture into the world of knitting was not an unmitigated success. For a hand-knitting school project at age 7, my teddy bear was a disaster, with stitches so small and tight it could hardly be stuffed. It did not look like I had found my forté.
Sixteen years later I was completing a degree in Knitwear Design from Nottingham Trent University and embarking on a career that would take me from England to Scotland, Milan, and now Seattle. My passion for colour, texture, pattern and all things knitted continues to inspire me in the swatch business.
We hope you enjoy looking at our collection as much as we enjoy creating it.
